Casa Arco Iris is in the town of Villanueva del Trabuco, near the centre of the town on the main road towards Archidona. The house was almost entirely rebuilt at the end of 2003, and now has all the usual modern ameneties. We designed it specificially for families with children, because many of the other holiday houses in central Andalucia are not really suitable for youngsters. For example, we have gates on all the stairs, there is a large, enclosed courtyard with no direct access to the street and we provide a selection of toys and games. It is also easy to take your car right to the front door, so you won't have to carry tired children too far!
Free car parking is available nearby, and the shops are less than five minutes walk. There are several child-friendly restaurants in and around the town, and baby-sitting can be arranged with our local agents if the adults need an evening out by themselves.
The car is a Renault Clio or similar, which is suitable for a group of up to four. If you prefer a different vehicle please enquire; we can supply most types.

The house is built of stone, under a partly tiled roof, with a roof terrace and a large, fully enclosed courtyard. The roof terrace is accessed via stairs from the courtyard, with a lockable gate to prevent unsupervised children climbing the stairs. From the terrace there are beautiful views over the town to the mountains beyond. It's an ideal place for a late evening drink, watching the stars twinkling over the white houses and red roofs, with the mountains as a backdrop.
The courtyard is fully enclosed and has a clean, tiled floor. There are chairs to relax in and a barbeque area and tables for dining "al fresco".
Inside the house there is a good-sized sitting room, with easy chairs and comfortable sofas. A radio/cassette/CD player is provided together with a selection of compact disks, but you may like to bring your favourite music as well. There is a TV set (Spanish channels only) and a DVD player with a selection of films and cartoons to watch. A wood-burning stove and electric heaters are provided to keep you warm in the winter months, and there are ceiling fans to keep you cool in the summer. We don't charge extra for gas or electricity.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the usual utensils, cutlery, crockery and saucepans, toaster and electric kettle. There is a modern refrigerator and full hob and large oven as well as a washing machine, microwave, iron and ironing board. The dining area has a dining table, chairs and a high-chair.
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms and a shower room. The main bedroom has one double bed (5 ft king size, with electric blanket) and the second bedroom has two single beds. There is also a cot for babies, which can be put in either of the bedrooms. Each bedroom has bedside tables and a chest of drawers, together with bedside lamps. The main bedroom has a wardrobe.
Bed linen is supplied for all the beds, including the cot. Towels and tea towels are also included, but we ask you to bring your own towels for the beaches or water parks.
The toilet/shower room is newly built, and includes a shower, wash basin and modern WC. There is a razor point and cabinet for toothbrushes etc.
The whole house has tiled floors and is freshly decorated in the local style.
